Description

Chassis No. 12267 Engine No. 12267 (Internal No. A662) Transmission No. 385Introduced at the 1967 Paris Salon, the 365 GT 2+2 was conceived to compete in the worldwide luxury market, and it arrived as the most technically advanced road-going Ferrari of its day. Clothed by Pininfarina in a body that borrowed the streamlined nose of the 500 Superfast, it paired a 4.4-liter Colombo V12 with standard luxury appointments that marked it as Ferrari's most refined four-seater to date. It was the first 2+2 from Maranello with full independent suspension, joined by hydro-pneumatic self-leveling rear geometry, standard power steering, and air conditioning-yet with 320 horsepower it remained good for 245 km/h.According to a report compiled by Ferrari historian Marcel Massini, chassis number 12267 was completed as a left-hand-drive European-market example, originally finished in Grigio Le Sancy over a Pelle Rossa Connolly leather interior. The car was delivered new in July 1970 to Italian dealer Tecno/Malvetti and sold that same year to its first private owner, Mr. Wuisan, a Chinese businessman living in Italy.By the late 1970s the Ferrari had passed through Charles Pozzi SA to a new owner in Paris, at which point it was repainted dark blue and registered on French plates ''1238 RW 92.'' It reemerged publicly in May 1996, offered at auction in Geneva, where it was described as ''a very original car showing a probably genuine 84,748 km,'' and was acquired by the respected Belgian Ferrari collector Robert Misonne, of Wauthier-Braine, who registered the car in Belgium on the plate ''DHN 753.''By 2003, the car entered the care of its current Belgian caretaker and a good friend of the former, under whose ownership it wore Belgian registration ''365 GT.'' Fastidiously maintained by respected marque specialists throughout the current ownership-with supporting invoices on file-the car benefitted from comprehensive engine work in 2003–2004, when its top end was rebuilt and re-torqued after running in. A cosmetic refresh followed in 2016, encompassing paintwork and the complete re-plating of the brightwork, from the bumpers to the window surrounds and trim. More recently, in 2021, the marque specialist L'Officina carried out a thorough overhaul of the braking system, front and rear, together with a full fluid service and refinishing of the exhaust. In current ownership, the Ferrari was also displayed at the Zoute Grand Prix Concours d'Elégance in October 2017, appearing in Class VII for the modern era of Ferrari, and again in September 2022 as part of the ''75 Anni di Ferrari'' exhibition at the Autoworld Museum in Brussels.Presented today in its attractive dark blue over red leather configuration, chassis 12267 is a well-documented and attractively preserved example of Ferrari's most refined 1960s four-place tourer. Accompanied by its Ferrari Classiche ''Red Book'' issued in 2021-certifying that the car retains its original chassis, engine, transmission, and differential-it offers an inviting entry into front-engined V12 Ferrari ownership, combining Pininfarina elegance with the touring comfort that defined the ''Enzo era'' of the marque.
